The ALS-Clinic in Lisbon has initiated its activities in 1985. Since then has been devoted to the care of ALS patients, mostly from Lisbon area, but also to many patients living in other regions of the country. In addition to clinical activities this center has been doing continous clinical and neurophysiological research, in particular on electrophysiological diagnosis, measurement of disease progression, and respiratory changes and its treatment. More recently, we have developed other areas of research, as molecular biomarkers.
