The San Raffaele ALS Centre

The San Raffaele ALS Centre is designed and dedicated to providing the highest level of comprehensive care for people and families with ALS and related motor neuron diseases. The infrastructure of this unit comprises: the San Raffaele Neurology Ward, Neurorehabilitation Ward and outpatient ALS clinics. A multi-disciplinary team of experts is committed to providing the highest level of diagnostic accuracy (including the latest neurophysiological tests, MRI, nerve and muscle pathology techniques), and comprehensive, multi-disciplinary patient care and management. The San Raffaele ALS Centre is part of the Institute of Experimental Neurology (INSPE), which is primarily dedicated to translational research in the neuroscience field, conjugating high level of basic research with the specific competences in pre-clinical and clinical research. Activities span to clinical research (e.g clinical trials MRI, wet biomarkers) to basic research activities (e.g.: novel drug development, animal and cellular models, human iPSCs), in collaboration with several laboratories in Italy and Europe.
